Therapy for those experiencing suicidal Thoughts, depression, or behavioral Difficulties
Asking for help is already a difficult task. Asking for help when it comes to difficult topics like suicidal thoughts or behaviors no one seems to understand can feel shameful and overwhelming. I want to help relieve that shame.
Hi, I’m Maggie.
I am a therapist who is passionate about meeting you where you are at - even if where you are at feels scary or overwhelming for you. I believe every part of you deserves a space to feel safe, seen, and at ease. My goal as a therapist is to provide a safe and accepting space where you are able to explore all parts of yourself without fear of judgment.
I work with children (ages 6+), adolescents, their families, and adult individuals who are experiencing suicidal thoughts, self-harming, depression, and/or behavioral difficulties. I also provide parent consultations to guardians who need more support in their parenting journey.
My approach to therapy is relational, trauma-informed, and neurodivergent affirming. I believe that you are the expert in your life, and by combining my knowledge of therapy with your knowledge of life, we will work together to find the healing that you seek.
My approach:
Therapy with me is collaborative and individualized. We will work together to develop goals for your sessions, and I will pull from a variety of treatment modalities in order to develop a plan that will meet all of your needs. I believe in a client’s right to both know and understand the why behind how I do therapy, so I always encourage questions and feedback throughout our time together.
Suicidal Thoughts and Depression
Suicidal thoughts and depression can feel overwhelming and all encompassing when you are dealing with them on your own. As a therapist, I aim to provide a nonjudgmental space to begin exploring the ‘why’ behind the feelings you are having and develop a plan to help ease these feelings.
Behavioral Difficulties
Behavioral difficulties can look like Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), Oppositional Defiance Disorder (ODD), school refusal, self-harming, and behavioral challenges related to Autism and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). I believe that all behavior is communication, and I will help you understand what these behaviors are trying to communicate to you.
Parent consultation
I offer parent consultation two separate ways -
Parent consultation is included in my work with children ages 6 to 12 years old.
Parents/guardians can see me individually for parent consultation as the main focus of treatment.
